Whatever it is, there is probably a reason that you were in just the right time and place to receive that sign or message.

Let me tell you a little story!

When I first arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (where my family and I lived briefly), I saw a sign at a local establishment for a leadership conference. It had an amazing list of speakers; Simon Sinek, Danielle Strickland, and other leadership experts were going to be sharing their knowledge right there, in Ethiopia, less than a mile from where I was standing, just as I had arrived.

This was kind of a big deal!

An even bigger deal — this leadership conference was going to be SMALL. I was going to be able to interact with all of these amazing speakers.

I’ll admit it: I thought it was too good to be true.

So I left without signing up. (I know, I know…)

The next time I visited the establishment, the sign was still up. And I made the decision to step into this experience. So, I signed up.

Even though I was still busy moving into our new home.

Even though I was in the middle of a launch and “free time” felt like an imaginary concept.

The message from the universe was just too clear, and I couldn’t ignore it.

(I actually had to miss the first day because I was so busy, but I knew I had to attend the second day!)

When I arrived on the second day, I took a seat near the back of the room just as a presentation was about to start.

That’s when I discovered — those amazing speakers? They were not presenting in person. All of the presentations were done remotely.

Was I disappointed? Yes!

But I knew there was still a reason I was there. I knew there would be one nugget of information that would make the entire experience worth it.

So, I stayed.

And it turned out that there were HUNDREDS of nuggets of valuable information waiting for me. I filled up an entire notebook that day and my hand was almost cramping by the time we broke for lunch.

Thank goodness I showed up!

There is always a reason why you are where you are right now. There are always messages that are cueing you in to your destiny — you just need to be open to hearing them.
