That’s why I was excited to sit down with Carol Zacharias, owner of Four Zen Bookkeeping, to discuss her journey of growing a business around money management. Like many entrepreneurs, Carol started her business with the desire for freedom.

Before the pandemic, Carol was a teacher, a profession that was hit hard by the shutdowns. So, she took a step back and asked herself, “What can I do with the skill sets I have?” With an undergraduate degree in accounting, she landed on bookkeeping and dove in.
Her strategy, like many entrepreneurs, was to start with friends and family that grew into clients and eventually hiring her first employee.
