Your Million Dollar Marketing Plan Made Simple

I’m still in getting things set for the year ahead and things feel good.  I have a long term vision, but I have a solid plan of attack for the next 30-60-90 days.  I’m not worried about planning all 365 days of 2013 because you don’t have to plan a year ahead to get ahead.

If you missed the free 90 day plan template from last week, you can pop over here  to get it so you too can create your 90 day plan.

To set ourselves up for success in this planning stage and for the rest of 2013, we have a reminder from a cowboy…

matt

Whoops.  Not that cowboy!

(I couldn’t resist myself).

The reminder I am talking about is in this 33 second video:

In the Cityslickers clip, we get some good business advice:

Curly: Do you know what the secret of life is?

Curly: This. [holds up one finger]

Mitch: Your finger?

Curly: One thing. Just one thing. You stick to that and the rest don’t mean shit.

Mitch: But what is the “one thing?”

Curly: [smiles] That’s what you have to find out.

It’s Curly’s Law :: Do One thing.
This might apply in your business in any numbers of ways.

Do you pop from client work to Facebook to family time all in 5 minutes time?
Do you have too many product and service offerings causing your clients to be confused?
Do you have your hands in too many projects?
Do you have multiple businesses running with a lack of focus on your one thing?

You get the idea.  I’m not going to go into the research or the business benefits of the “do one thing” philosophy.  You can get that on Forbes, or from the Harvard Business Review, or at the Huffington Post or from Fabienne

Today, I’m just here to give you a reminder.
Do one thing.
Take these digital downloads as my free, no obligation, just because I want  you to succeed gift to remember to:

  11. eyenie says:

Such an important reminder, Amber!! Thank you! And I could feel myself blushing while reading the list of “are you…” because I am guilty of ALL of them!!! My website/offerings need to be paid a visit, and I have it on my list of new “rules” for 2013 to turn off all internet stuff while working so I can focus only on that. And thank you oodles for the free PDF…I can’t wait to jump on in! YAY! 🙂

  12. Helen Crosbie says:

Wow, that’s so simple. I can’t believe I missed it! great advice, I’m going to try that straight away! I’m the queen of hopping from one thing to another and never quite achieving as much as I want. Thank you Amber 🙂

  13. Leah Shapiro says:

    Love that cowboy!

My one this is to feel good now!As long as I do that I’m all set.

  14. Christie Halmick says:

Hooray for cowboys of all kinds! I’m working on Curly’s law. A timer like http://e.ggtimer.com seems to help me focus and stay on task instead of ping pong all over the internet!

  15. Teresa Deak says:

Yup. Multi-tasking is not one of my strong points. I actually don’t think it is anyone’s strong point, but a lot of my friends disagree. And since the TV is on while I type this, it’s taken 3 re-types and 14 minutes. LoL

Note to self: go back to just one thing in the morning.

    Hugs and butterflies,
    ~Teresa~
