I wonder if it would be helpful to add in a few extra categories as options to add to the spreadsheet like Phone/Internet, courses/education, travel/conferences, that inevitable insurance hike and office supplies? Without making it a crazy-making long list, of course 🙂

Just downloaded the template, uploaded it to Google Docs for easy on the go updates from anywhere (even my iPhone) and going through all your “Money Honey” posts before I get started with filling it in. I just wanted to reach out and thank you for this Budget Template spreadsheet.
I ended up coming across it earlier this year and yesterday started updating it for 2015.
With a couple of modifications, it is became the perfect tool for me to anticipate what I need to make each month to cover my expenses and create the income I want in my business.
I just set it up for next year with some preliminary numbers – expenses I know that are on the books as well as my minimum net income I want to receive monthly.
This will definitely help looking at “real” numbers and not just an arbitrary figure pulled out of the air to reach.
